Minutes of a regular meeting of the board of Aldermen of the Town of 'South Miami,

Fla., held in the temporary town hall on Sunset Roadv Tuesday evening Apr` il 20 1926
at 8 o'clock P., M.

�,, Meeting was called.to order by J. L. Paxson President of the Board.

The. Clerk. then called the roll and found all members present.,
Minutes of the special meeting of the Board held Tuesday,evening '
April 13th were read and approved after a 'minor correction was made by the Clerk,

The President of the Board then called for a report from the
different Committeemen. Alderman R. Vi, Martin Committeeman on Sanitation reported
that an inspection had been made of the manner in which the Reba liki"as Canning
Company was disposing of the waste matter "from its factory and stated the method was
very in sanitary and it would be necessary to provdde some other means of disposal.
A general discus *ion of the subject was entered into by the Aldermen but no
definite plan was outlined to take care of the situation.
Alderman Dorn reported the work of widening and straightening Sun
set Road was going forward very satisfactorily.
Alderman Stang Committeeman pn Police reported the addition of another
Motorcycle to the equipment of the Police epartment,also that signs were being
°placed on the highways of the gown with reference to the traffic regulations. =
Alderman Stang also brought, up the question of the amount of bond to be required
for the appearances of persons placed under arrest by the town Officers, also the
auestion of who should have the authority to set the amount of, bond to be taken.
After a, general discussion of the subject by all of the aldermen it was decided"
that the Committeeman on Police and the Mayor should outline some plan for taking j
care of this matter.
The following mentioned bills were presented fdi- approval and
authority to pay by the Town Clerk,
James W. Koon Salary to April 15th 1926 $75.00

C.F. Brundage Engineer for services rendered to 8th 1926 0164.00

Geo, A. Airey for Cash paid to workmen on Dixie _ 18.80
Total 1 4340.65
Alderman flyers moved that`the clerk be authorized to issue vouchers in payment of
bills just read. Motion was seconded by Alderman Stang and.upon being put to vote
was carried all votes 'being in the affirmative.
Mr. J.L. Paxson President of the Board then appointed a Committee
to be known as the 'Committee on 'Public Service and Utilities and comprising the
following members of the Board';
H.W. Dorn Committeeman om Finance
J. 77. Barre it it Buildings
John Myers it it Streets and SeWera.
This Committee was authorized by the Board of Aldermen to outline and supervise the
work of the town Engineer.
A motion was made by Alderman Ayers to adjourn to a special meotingto
be held Tuesday evening April 27th at 8 o'clock P.l. The motion was seconded by
Alderman R.L.Martin and when put to vote was carried all votes being in the affirmative
