The meeting was called to order by president Paxson_ The

River would not be for sale, .for some time.

On motion made by Harold i'1. Dore_ and seconded by John l,iyers,
consent was given the meyor to make appointment of a night mar_ to go on
town payroll after April 1, 1926. ,
Aldermar. Stang brought up question of Clear Up 'Meek but no action
was taken by the board.

A motion was made by alderman Janes and seconded by alderman_
iiyers that type of machine as mentioned above be 3rdered from the American
La i:'rance Fire Engine Co. subject to acceptance upon satisfactory demon-
stration.' iaotion was put to veto and carried.
Several applicants for the position of town engineer being in
attendance, they, were called upon to state their propositions and
qualifications.

advise their application would be given consideration.
Mr. Irunda :e submitted his proposition in detail and offered the

plans he had in mind should he receive the sppoint,;ient.

Due to the fact that p-re'�r.��ises now occupied as temporary town hall
is to be removed it became necessary to select another l.ocatiori,rfor
temporary quarters.
Alderman ;7. G. Stang tendered the board space in the office of o
the Larkin Realty Co. on ,Sunset Drive as temporary quarters Tor town hall 0
and Municipal Court Room for the Town of South. Hiami. it
A motion was made by alderman I.1yers and seconded by alderman
Janes, that the 'office of Larkin ?ealty6Co. be selected as., temporary town
hall. . Yotior_ was put to Vote ,,and carried:' _.
The question of an occupational tax: ordinance was then taken 'up by
the board and the clerk was instructed to read the several sections which ~�
ha.d,been formulated. all sections excepting that pertaining to rate of
taxation were adopted as read. Motion was made, by alderman „iyers that
committee be appointed to revise the schedule of rates as - submitted by
the clerk. Alderman H. W. Dorn seconded the motion.' Ii -Tot on was voted on.

carried.. A motion was made by alderman Stang and seconded by alderman
' Dorn that the Commercial Bank and Trust Co. of Miami be made temporary
Depository for the funds of the Town of South I iami. Motion was put to
vote and carried.
