A Resolution acknowledging Mayor Stoddard's re-appointment of Kevin
T.Greiner to serve on the Planning Board for a second,two-year term
ending April 6,2017.
WHEREAS,Article II,Section 8,Sub-section A of the City Charter provides that:
***When a Board or Committee is comprised of five members,each City
Commissioner shall appoint one person to serve asa representative on
the Board or Committee.When there are more than five (5)members on a
Board or Committee,each City Commissioner shall appoint one person to
serve asa representative on the Board or Committee,and all members of
such Board or Committee inexcess of five(5)shall be appointed by three
(3)affirmative votes of the City Commission based on recommendations
submitted by any City Commissioner.When a Board or Committee has less
than five(5)members,then the selection of all members shall beby three (3)
affirmative votes of the City Commission from recommendations submitted
byany City Commissioner.(Amended 2-09-10)
WHEREAS,the Mayor and Commission recognizethe important contributions madebythose
whoserveonthevariouscityboardsandcommittees,andwishtoappointafullcomplementtoeachof
the active boards and committees;and
WHEREAS,Mayor Stoddard desirestore-appointKevinT.Greiner toserveonthe Planning
Boardforatwo-yearterm.AppointmentsshallexpireApril6,2017 oruntilasuccessorisdulyappointed
and qualified;and
WHEREAS,commencing with appointments madeafter January 1,2009,Sec.2-22 "Term
Limits"oftheCodeofOrdinancesprovidesthat,appointeesarelimitedtotwo(2)consecutivetwo-year
terms of membershiponaspecificcommission,board,orcommittee.Afterservingamaximum of two(2)
consecutiveyearterms,anappointeeshallnotbereappointedtothesamecommission,boardor
committeeunlessatleastoneyearhaselapsedbetweenthetermlimitedpositionandtheeffectivedateof
commencement of the proposed appointment foranewterm;and
WHEREAS,Sec.2-22 "Term Limits"of theCode of Ordinances,as amended by Ordinance No.
06-14-2184,datedApril15,2014,providesthattheappointer,orhisorhersuccessorinoffice,may
extendthetermlimitsofhisorherappointmentwiththeadviceandconsentofa majority oftheCity
Commission;and
WHEREAS,pursuant toSec.2-22"Term Limits"of theCode of Ordinances,thisisMr.
Greiner's second two-year term.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
