7ENERAL POOL NOTES
1. INSTALL NEW POOL PUMP, FILTER, & HEATING EQUIPMENT IN EXISTING
CABANA.PROJECT MANAGER TO INSTRUCT G.C. OF EXACT LOCATION OF EQUIPMENT.
G.C. TO PROVIDE NEW CIRCULATING PUMP, FILTER, HEATER, PLUMBING, ELECTRICAL, &
ALL ANSCILLARY FITTINGS REQUIRED FOR POOL & JACUZZI.
2 PUMP EQUIPMENT INCLUDING FILTER &/OR HEATER SHALL BE LOCATED ABOVE THE
REQUIRED BASE FLOOD ELEVATION OR FLOOD PROOFED.
3. ALL POOL CONSTRUCTION SHALL CONFORM TO CHAPTER 50 OF SOUTH FLORIDA
BUILDING CODE.
4. POOL & PATIO SHALL BEAR ON ROCK OR CLEAN SAND WHICH SHALL BE
COMPACTED TO PROVIDE A STRUCTURALLY SAFE BEARING CAPACITY. ALL UNSUITABLE
MATERIAL ENCOUNTERED IN EXCAVATION SHALL BE REMOVED IN ITS ENTIRETY AND THE
AREA SHALL BE BACK FILLED WITH ACCEPTABLE MATERIAL AND PROPERLY
COMPACTED.
5. CONCRETE MAYBE PNEUMATICALLY APPLIED OR POURED IN PLACE IN POOL FLOOR,
WALL AND STEPS. CONCRETE SHALL DEVELOP A STRENGTH OF 3000 PSI IN 28 DAYS, IN
OPTIONAL POOL DECK 2,500 PSI.
6. ALL REINFORCING STEEL SHALL CONFORM TO ASTM 815 GRADE 60. REINFORCING
SHALL BE NO 3 BARS AT 10" O.C. EACH WAY. BELOW 7', SPACING SHALL BE 6" O.C.
EACH WAY.
7. ALL METALLIC POOL FITTINGS WITHIN 5' OF THE INSIDE WALL & THE DECK
REINFORCING STEEL SHALL BE BONDED TO THE POOL REINFORCING STEEL WITH A
NUMBER 8 AWG COPPER WIRE. THE POOL REINFORCING STEEL SHALL BE BONDED TO
THE POOL LIGHT NICHE WITH A # 8 AWG COPPER WIRE. 248 AWG COPPER WIRES
SHALL BE RUN WITH THE NEC APPROVED CONDUIT, ONE INTERNALLY, FROM THE LIGHT
NICHE TO THE JUNCTION BOX. COMPLETION OF THE POOL GROUNDING SYSTEM TO THE
PANEL BOARD BY ELECTRICIAN.
7A. INSTALLATION OF JUNCTION BOXES, GROUNDS, ETC SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE
WITH 680 OF THE NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE. POOL LIGHTS MUST BE INSTALLED IN
STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH THE SFBC & SUBJECT TO ELECTRICAL INSPECTION. POOL
LIGHTS MUST BE 12V.
8. ALL PIPING SHALL BE N.S.F. APPROVED AND SHALL BE SCHEDULE 40 PVC EXCEPT
WHERE OTHERWISE NOTED. SHORT 90 DEGREE BENDS ARE NOT PERMITTED IN SUCTION
LINES.
9. PUMP & FILTER MAYBE RELOCATED IN FIELD UPON PRIOR PERMISSION BY OWNER.
10. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL DETERMINE THE LOCATION OF ALL UTILITIES IN RELATION
TO THE POOL AND ITS EQUIPMENT SHALL INSURE MIN. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS IN
ACCORDANCE WITH ALL LOCAL REGULATIONS.
11. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROTECT ALL EXISTING STRUCTURES FROM DAMAGE AND
OR FAILURE BY ACCEPTABLE METHODS, AS MAY BE REQUIRED.
12. WARNING; DRAINING THE POOL FOR ANY REASON, WITHOUT ELIMINATING THE
HYDROSTATIC UPLIFT PRESSURE MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS DAMAGE THE OWNER IS
ADVISED TO CONSULT AN EXPERIENCED POOL CONTRACTOR TO COMMENCING
DRAINING THE POOL.
12A POOL WATER DISPOSAL SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SFBC.
12B MAIN DRAIN SHALL HAVE AN ANTI - VORTEX GRATE (6" SQUARE MINIMUM OPEN
AREA AND HYDROSTATIC VALVE)
13. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LOCATION & RELOCATION OF ALL
UNDERGROUND UTILITY LINES (I.E., GAS, WATER, ELECTIRCAL ETC.) IN THE PATH OF
CONSTRUCTION.
14. THE OWNER SHALL PROVIDE A SCREEN ENCLOSURE, FENCE, OR WALL WITH SELF
CLOSING & SELF LATCHING GATE IN ACCORDANCE WITH CODE REQUIREMENTS.
15. CONTRACTOR TO INSTALL A 24 HOUR TIMER FOR PUMP AS PER FLA STATE ENERGY
CODE # 505.2.
