Res No 004-15-14343RESOLUTION NO.004-15-14343 A Resolution approving the application of VolksBlast,Inc.,a non-profit organization,to waive certain fees and costs associated withits event showcasing classic cars,tobeheldonFebruary 8,2015,onSunsetDriveinSouthMiami. WHEREAS,Volks Blast Inc,a 501 (c)3 non-for-profit organization,has submitted a SpecialEventApplication;and, WHEREAS,forpast several years the Volks Blast Inchasheldtheir classic car show eventintheCity of SouthMiami;and, WHEREAS,the applicant has requested permission toholditseventon February 8,2015; and, WHEREAS,the applicant haspaid $660,which includes $60 application fee100 administrative feeand $500 deposit fee;and, WHEREAS,VolksBlast,Inc.,willprovide,priortothisevent,alist of entertainers/bands andanyotheractivitiesoccurringduringthisevent,alongwithaninsurancepolicynamingthe Cityasanadditionalinsured,andmeetingtheother standard requirements of theCity;and, WHEREAS,alogisticmeetingwithPoliceandPublicWorksDepartmentswillbe coordinated through the Special Events Coordinator,in January 2015;and, WHEREAS,the applicant willberesponsibleforallservices rendered bythePolice $1,320(2Officers @ 13hoursx$40.00perhour,plusone(1)Officer@7hoursx$40perhour), andPublicWorks$172(1employeeplus FICA),andParkingmeterstotaling$2,400.00($25.00 per meter per day for59 parking spaces on Sunset Drive fromUS1to Red Road,plus 37 meters inLotB behind the former ChaseBank),andStreet Closure feeinan amount of $475(1,900 linear feetX.25)and MOT fee of $200,total estimated amount of these services would be $4,567;and, WHEREAS,the applicant is seeking a waiver forthe following items: 37 Metered Parking Spaces (LotB behind Chase Bank)$925 Street closure $475 MOT Fee $200 Total amount waived $1,600 and, WHEREAS,under Resolution #215-13-14033 and Resolution 258-12-13815, VolksBlast,Inc.wasgivenwaiversforPublicWorks,Streetclosurefee,and37meteredparking spaces in Lot B located behind Chase Bank;and, WHEREAS,if the City waives the amount mentioned above,then Volks Blast Inc would paytheCity$2,967,forPoliceservices,59ParkingmetersandonePublicWorkspersonnel.
