Section 1. That the Land Development Code of the City of South Miami w
hereby is, amended to add a new Article VII, as follows:
ARTICLE VII, HOMETOWN DISTRICT OVERLAY ORDINANCE
20-7.1 TITLE.
This Article shall be known as the "Hometown District Overlay
Ordinance" (111)).
B. Applicability.

The boundaries of the HD shall be as delineated on the HD Regulating Plan,
as amended from time to time.

B. Landscaping Utilities:
All plant materials shall conform to the standards for Florida No. 1 or better as given in
"Grades and Standards for Nursery Plants" Part I, 1965 and Part fl, State of Florida,
Department o griculture, Tallahassee, or equal thereto. Grass sod shall be clean
reasonably free of weeds and noxious pests or diseases. Grass areas shall be planted in

must incorporate the xeriscape principles provided in Section -7.17.

some time become public open spaces through purchase or gift. Until such
time as public ownership is established, the properties may be developed
consistant with the provisions of this Hometown District Overlay Ordinance.
