WHEREAS,the applicant has requested a special use permit
to allow a consignment clothing storeinan S.R.district andthe
staff recommendation is that the application complies with the Land
Development Code;and
WHEREAS,ata public hearing on November 28,1989,the
Planning Board voted 4-2 to grant the request.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA:
Section 1.That a special use permit to allow a used
merchandise (consignment goods)clothing store ina Special Retail
(SR)district on property legally described as:
Lots 4,5,67,68 and Lot 69 less the South 10 Feet
thereof of W.A.LARKINS SUBDIVISION,as recorded at
Plat Book 3,Page 198,of the Public Records of
Dade County,Florida,a/k/a 7241 Southwest 57th
Court,South Miami,Florida
is hereby granted.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 2nddayof January 1989.

o-f used clothes(consignment stores)intheDowntownCom
mercial District o-f South Miami.
Designer Consigner isa consignment store,it isanew con
cept o-f retailing which is going to give the commercial
neighborhood a new merchandise mix.This is a boutique,not
a second hand-junk shop.
Attract mainstream American consumers.As the economy
gets more uncertain,this kind o-f business gets better.
Thishasbeenprovenagainand again.Whereasonlypoor
people used to shop -for used items,many middle-class pa
tronstodaywill show upsearching -for waysto save money
andatthe same timebuyclothingthatisa cut above
o-ff-the-rack merchandise.
Justasour customers are mainstream,soourmerchandise
is high quality,even superior to that o-f so-called major
department stores.We are not a polyester house.We are
very particular about the kind o-f clothing and accessories we
accept.It consist largely of better-constructed,natural
•fiber clothing supplied by those whooriginallybuy nothing
butthebest.Nobody willbeableto tell our store -from a
fancy boutique.
