BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS
In 2002,the City wasawardedagrant from the Florida Department of Environmental
Protection (DEP)through the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program
(FRDAP)to fund improvements to Dante Fascell Park.Portions of this funding have
already beenused for repairs tothe tennis courts and improvements tothe picnic
pavilions,accessible trails,parking lot and park drainage.
The final stageof this grant will include renovation ofthe restrooms to bring them into
compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)including new door openings,
new doors,stucco,floor tile,toilet partitions,etc.In addition,repairs will bemadetothe
tennis pro shop including replacement of countertops,new wall paneling,new
suspended ceiling,painting,etc.TheParksandRecreationDepartmenthas solicited
quotations for this work,and the lowest responsive quotation was submitted by
LEADEX Corporationinthe amount of$22,925.00.
The attached resolution would authorize the City Manager to disburse funds in the
amount of $22,925.00 to LEADEX Corporation for this work.Funding is available in the
Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program (FRDAP)account #
001.0000.115.7022 that currently hasabalanceof$25,697.41.
RECOMMENDATION
We recommend thatthe City Managerbe authorized todisbursetheamountof
$22,925.00 to LEADEX Corporation for the renovation of the restroom and tennis pro
shop building at Dante Fascell Park.
