WHEREAS, training is essential for a law enforcement officer to maintain his certification and to enhance skills; and WHEREAS, the Drug Enforcement Administration periodically conducts specialized narcotics training in different geographical locations in the United States; and WHEREAS, the South Miami Police Department has been invited to send a participant to the specialized narcotics training to learn about different methods and tactics being used in the investigations of narcotics; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA THAT: Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to disburse $1,530.00 from the Police Department's State Forfeiture Fund "Travel, Per diem & Conference" Account # 608 -1910- 521 -4070, with a beginning balance of $1,530.00.
