A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE A
SERVICE WORK ORDER TO SANTANA'S LAWN SPRINKLERS, CORP. FOR
IRRIGATION SYSTEM REPAIR AT PALMER PARK BASEBALL FIELD IN AN
AMOUNT OF $13,100 TO BE CHARGED TO THE FLORIDA RECREATION
DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM ( FRDAP) GRANT ACCOUNT NUMBER
001 - 0000 - 131 -2221; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission wishes to provide irrigation system repairs at
Palmer Park baseball field; and.
WHEREAS, the repair service will be provided by Santana's Lawn Sprinklers, Corp. in an
amount of $13,100 to be charged to FRDAP account number 001- 0000 - 131 -2221, with account
balances of $33,915.85, before this request.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA THAT:
Section 1. That the Mayor and City Commission authorize the City Manager to execute a
service work order with Santana's Lawn Sprinklers, Corp. in an amount of $13,100 to be charged to
FRDAP account number 001 -0000- 131 -2221, with account balances of $33,915.85, before this request.
Section 2. The attached exhibit is incorporate by reference into this resolution.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.

Request: Authorizing the City Manager to issue a Service-..Work Order to Santana's Lawn
Sprinklers, Corp for $13,100.
Reason/Need: As part of the Fiscal Year 2005106 grant from the Florida Recreation
Development Assistance Program (FRDAP), . we. are required to repair /upgrade the existing
irrigation system on the baseball field at Palmer Park. The irrigation system repair will include
installation of electric valves; Stainless steel pop up rotors; station timers; rain sensor; new pipes
and sod restoration. We received the following 3 bids for the work and Santana's Lawn
Sprinklers, Corp was the low bidder:
• Santana's Lawn Sprinklers, Corp. $13,100.00,
• Affordable Irrigation, Inc. $13,950.00
• Rainmaker Lawn Sprinkler $55,300.00
Cost: $13,100.00
Funding Source: FRDAP grant account number 001 - 0000 -131 -2221 with current account
balances of $33,915.85, before this request

We propose to install four 2" Electric valves, one ESP.LX 16 Rainbird controller, and one pump
start relay to replace thy; four existing manual valves.
We propose to install tt.e control wire inside an electrical conduct. The sod would be reinstalled
after all the trenches aze backfi.11_ Jn addition we would add 2 electric valves. We will install
400 feat of 3' SCH 40 pipe. We will split 1 zone into 2. We will install 5 140' stainless steel
pop up rotors to water the skin and clay of field on southwest of park with new 300 feet of pipe,
We will install extra wring for future addition to rest of l.elds on west side of property.
