No. 066-09-12875RESOLUTION NO. 66 -09 -12875 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA, RELATING TO CITY COMMISSION MEETINGS; ESTABLISHING A POLICY WHEREBY THE CITY MANAGER'S REPORT SHALL BE LIMITED TO 25 MINUTES AND THE CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT SHALL BE LIMITED TO 15 MINUTES; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission of the City of South Miami recognize the importance of developing an efficient framework in order to satisfactorily address all matters on the City Commission agenda; and, WHEREAS, in order increase the amount of time available to the Mayor and Commission to address agenda items and, thereby, minimizing the amount of agenda items that are carried over to following Commission meetings as unfinished business, the City Manager and City Attorney Reports provided in the Agenda should be limited to twenty -five minutes and fifteen minutes respectively. WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission enact this policy to effectuate their purpose of ensuring the agenda items, business of the City, is completed in a timely and efficient manner. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA; Section 1. That a policy is hereby established to limit the City Manager report during regularly scheduled Commission meetings to twenty -five (25) minutes and City Attorney's report to fifteen (15) minutes. Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon approval. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of April '2009.
