A Resolution appointing Patrick M. Bell, to serve on the Budget and Finance
Committee for a term ending September 30,2014.
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Commission recognize the important contributions made by
those who serve on the various city boards and committees, and wish to appoint a full
complement to each of the active boards and committees; and
WHEREAS, the Section 2-26.8( c) has been amended so that the budget and finance
committee terms begins on the date of the first City Commission meeting of the new fiscal year,
with appointments lasting one (1) year or until replaced; and
WHEREAS, the Budget and Finance Committee should be made explicitly exempt from
Section 2-22 of the Code of Ordinances, limiting terms to two (2) years so that someone who has
climbed the learning curve of the budget process and who has proven to be a responsible member
may have a longer tenure; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager or designee may serve as an ex-officio member of the
committee; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to appoint Patrick M. Bell to serve on the
Budget and Finance Committee. The appointment shall expire September 30,2014.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. The City Commission hereby appoints Patrick M. Bell to the Budget and
Finance Committee. The appointment shall expire September 30, 2014.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
