RESOLUTION NO. ______ _
A Resolution supporting Senator Diane Feinstein's bill prohibiting specifically-
named assault, automatic and semi-automatic weapons, and ammunitions
magazines that hold more than 10 rounds.
WHEREAS, the City of South Miami passed a resolution advocating a ban on the sale and
possession of automatic and semi-automatic weapons on December 18, 2012; and
WHEREAS, it is only natural that we should support the action of Senator Diane Feinstein
in her effort to initiate steps to stop the epidemic of mass shootings that are occurring with ever more
frequency; and
WHEREAS, our founding fathers, in all probability, never imagined the types of weapons
that are available today, nor the ability to fire as many rounds and with such frequency, when writing
the second amendment to the United States Constitution; and
WHEREAS, we wish to encourage other communities to join with us and make our united
voices heard.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA:

Feinstein's bill prohibiting all one hundred fifty-seven (157) specifically-named assault, automatic
