RESOLUTION NO.
A Resolution appointing a member of the City of South Miami Commission
as a temporary representative of the City for the purposes of negotiating City
Contracts.
WHEREAS, the City of South Miami ( "City ") currently does not have a permanent City
Manager; and
WHEREAS, currently the Acting City Manager has requested that his duties be limited
to the bare essentials, such as signing checks and agreements on behalf of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City is currently in the process of finalizing the negotiations of the
Design -Build Community Pool contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section l: is hereby appointed with full authority to
negotiate the terms of the City's contracts, in consultation with the relevant City administrative
department heads, and to make recommendations to the Acting City Manager, until such time as
the City hires a permanent City Manager or an Acting City Manager with full authority to act for
the City. All contracts for a sum in excess of $5,000 shall be approved by the City Commission
in accordance with the City Charter.
Section 2: If any section clause, sentence, or phrase of this resolution is for any reason
held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, the holding shall not affect
the validity of the remaining portions of this resolution.
Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption by vote of
the City Commission.
