RESOLUTION NO.
A Resolution re-appointing Alfredo Riverol, to
serve on the Pension Board for a two-year term
ending October I, 2014.
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Commission recogni ze the important
contributions made by those who serve on the various city boards
and committees, and wish to appoint a full complement to each of
the active boards and committees; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to re-appoint Alfredo
Ri verol to serve for a two year term on the Pension Board.
Appointment shall expire October 1, 2014 or until a successor is
duly appointed and qualified; and
WHEREAS, as per Sec. 2-22 "Term Limits" of the City of
South Miami Code of Ordinances, an appointee may not be re-
appointed to the same commission, board or committee after
completion of two (2) consecutive terms unless at least one year
has elapsed between the term limited position and the effective
date of commencement of the proposed appointment for a new term,
commencing with appointments made after January 1, 2009; and
WHEREAS, this re-appointment will constitute Mr. Ri verol' s
second two-year term.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. The City Commission hereby re-appoints
Alfredo Riverol to the Pension Board.

Responsible for the management of the City's Financial Department which
oversees an approximate annual budget of $55 million. Responsible for
handling all reimbursement requests from FEMA, Florida and Miami-Dade
County with reference to expenditures required for disaster relief efforts.
Developed short and long term goals; advised the City Manager and Board on
financial trends, applicable accounting state and federal laws and regulations;
developed policies and practices necessary to comply with those regulations;
and ensured compliance with the same. Responsible for statewide compliance
with policies and enforcement consistency. Administrative and managerial
work assisting the city manager in directing and coordinating the policies and
