3 An Ordinance relating to the City's Historic Preservation Board,
4 amending Section 20-6.1(D)(4)(a) i and iii; changing the number of
5 members required to constitute a quorum from five members to three
6 members.

8 WHEREAS, the City's Historic Preservation Board does not currently have its
9 full complement of nine (9) members established by Section 20-6. 1 (D)(1)(a) of the Land
10 Development Code; and
11
12 WHEREAS, on several occasions Board members have expressed concerns that
13 the current quorum requirements of five (5) members makes it difficult to conduct the
14 Board's business; and,
15
16 WHEREAS, an amendment to the Board's quorum and voting procedures
17 enumerated in Section 20-6.1 (D)(4)(a) i and ii, to specifY that a quorum consists of three
18 (3) members would help assure that the Board could continue to address Historic
19 Preservation issues in the City.

21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
22 COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA:

24 Section 1. Section 20-6. 1 (D)(4(a) i and ii of the City'S Land Development Code is
25 hereby amended as follows:

33 (a) Quorum and voting.
34 i. A quorum shall be five (5) three (3) members.
35 ii. An affirmative vote of a majority of the members present shall be
36 required to pass upon any matter on which the board is required to act
37 under this Code.
38 iii. In instances when the board considers a designation report, a quorum
39 shall consist of five (5) three (3) members, at least one (1) of whom shall
40 be an architect.

Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon approval

Proposals for UNIFORM RENTAL AND LAUNDRY SERVICE will 'fII received by the City of
Opa-Locka at the Office of the City Clerk, 780 Fisherman Street, 4 Floor, Opa-Iocka, Florida
33054, Wednesday. May 16. 2012 by 1:00 p.m. Any proposals received after the designated
closing time will be returned unopened.
The purpose of this Request for Proposals is to seek service of a qualified professional contractor
to provide UNIFORM RENTAL to the City of Opa-Iocka.
An original and five (5) copies a total of six (6) plus 1 copy of the proposal on CD's in PDF format
of the proposal shall be submitted in sealed envelopes/packages addressed to Joanna Flores,
Interim City Clerk, City of Opa-Iocka, Florida, and marked UNIFORM RENTAL AND LAUNDRY
