Background: 1 st National Bank of South Miami, submitted a Special Event Application to hold its 60th Anniversary celebration on April 28, 2012. 1st National Bank of South Miami is headquartered in the City of South Miami and provides various banking services for the residents and businesses in the City. 1 st National Bank of South Miami would like to hold a Family Fair celebrating their 60 th Anniversary and inviting the entire community to participate. Local school bands will be participating at this event, along with carnival style rides, and games. Food and beverages will also be sold and the event will be held between 4:00 p.m. -10:00 p.m. The applicant paid an application fee of $60.00. In addition, this event is subject to the following fees totaling $1,975.00: Deposit: $600.00 Police: $800.00 Street closure: $150.00 (258 linear feet X .25 = $150.00) Meters: $425.00 (17 meters at $25.00 per day) A total payment of$1,975.00 was paid. WHEREAS, 1st National Bank of South Miami, has submitted a Special Event Application to hold a Family Fair celebrating their 60th Anniversary and utilizing local school bands, carnival style rides and games for the community to participate in this event; and, WHEREAS, the applicant has requested permission to hold its event on April 28, 2012 and is seeking permission to close SW 57 Court between SW 73 Street and SW 74 Street, adjacent to the bank's parking lot; and, WHEREAS, the applicant paid a total of$1975.00 for the application fee ($60.00), police services ($800.00), street closure ($150.00) and meters ($425.00). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to approve the 1 st National Bank of South Miami 60th Anniversary Family Fair to be held on April 28, 2012, closing SW 57 Court between SW 73 Street and SW 74 Street, adjacent to the bank's parking lot. Section 2. If any section clause, sentence, or phrase of this resolution is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, the holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this resolution. The event will take place on SW 57 Court between 73 Street and 74 Street. No parking lot entries nor intersections will be blocked. We will also be using the Bank's parking lot and drive-in. We will have children's groups from various schools perform on stage. We will have a band, carnival, games and food and drinks. Our bank employees will be dressed in the fashion of the era as well. We are doing all these things for our community and it will be free to all to attend. Attached is the application to be submitted to the City of South Miami. The set-up will be at 1 :00 p.m. and the take down should be completed by 11 :00 p.m. We will be renting 11 parking meters, barricades and two Extra-Duty Police Officers. We will be responsible for clean up and we will have plenty of receptacles for waste and recycle. Pole banners and street banner will be printed using AAA Flags. I have already contacted the owners of Plaza 57. They are pleased about our event and have no concerns with the street closure. We are all so excited and we can hardly wait to celebrate on this day! Event areas shall be restored to equal or better condition than they were before the event started. 7. If all restoration work is not performed within 30 days of work completion, the City of South Miami Public Works Department may restore the event area and charge the applicant for the cost of restoration plus a minimum of 15% for administrative fee and any additional incidental fees. 8.
