Sincerely, Manager, Contracts Services Trimble 12-Charmel GPS Receivers Designed for Public Safety and Commercial Fleet Automatic Vehicle location Applications The Trimble Placer line of GPS receivers has a proven track record of exceptional reliability and longevity. Continuing our tradition of high performance and robust GPS receivers for mission-critical applications are two state-of-the-art Trimble models: Placer Gold APU and Placer Gold Dead Reckoning Unit Plus. These Placer Gold models are equipped with two independent, configurable RS232 serial ports (both of which may be used with an RS232 to USB 2.0 adapter), as well as user selectable interface protocols and port speeds (bps). Each port delivers location information to any in-vehicle device that accepts a GPS data input in a TAIp, NMEA or PPP interface format. This data allows dispatchers or managers to schedule Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) reports based on time andlor distance traveled. Computer Aided Dispatch Integration The in-vehicle Placer product line remains the preferred GPS receiver of many computer aided dispatch (CAD) system providers because Placer units work with the automatic vehicle location software you already have, such as most CAD systems, in-vehicle mapping and workforce management systems. By using an in-vehicle laptop or workstation with wireless connectivity or specific RF data radio models, Trimble Placer units are able to send data directly to your back-office applications. Mobile GPS Receiver with Dead Reckoning DesigneU fon use(in(area$(where satellite signals are intermittently blocked, the Placer Gol~1 Dead Reckoning Unit Plus (DRU Plus) model includes all the features of the Placer Gold APU model and adds dead reckoning capabilities. The DRU Plus outputs dead reckoning position data in the absence of satellite signal reception using a built-in angular rate sensor, a vehicle speed input and a reverse signal input. This allows dispatchers and managers to track vehicles through obstructed areas, such as tall buildings, tunnels or mountains. A Reliable, Inexpensive Solution The Trimble Placer GPS models are installed in tens of thousands of first-responder and commercial fleets worldwide. With a proven track record of exceptional performance and reliability, you can count on the Placer models to operate reliably through multiple replacements of accessory equipment, such as laptops and data modems. The Placer model's superior reliability and minimal maintenance result in a significantly lower cost of ownership compared to low-end consumer grade models that need to be replaced every three to five years. The Placer Gold APU and DRU Plus are the only certified, fully-featured, professional grade Trimble GPS receivers designed and supported by Trimble Mobile Resource Management. ~Trimble.
