ORDINANCE NO. _____ _
An Ordinance levying the millage of 4.6662 which represents the 2011 rolled-
back rate and is a 6% decrease from the City's current millage rate of
4.9526, for the fiscal year 20U/2012.
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 200.065, Florida Statutes, tax assessments for all real property
within the jurisdiction of the City of South Miami for the fiscal year 201112012 has been made
by the property appraiser for Dade County; and, I

WHEREAS, pursuant to the above-cited statutory provision, the Mayor and City Commission
are required to adopt a tentative and thereafter a final millage rate for the taxing jurisdiction of
the City of South Miami.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA THAT:
Section 1. There shall be and hereby is levied upon real property in the City of South
Miami, Florida, a tax of 4:6662 mills on the dollar for the fiscal year 2011/2012 for the
operational expenses of the government ofthe City for the fiscal year begil1l1ing October 1, 2011,
and ending September 30, 2012. This results in a 6% reduction from the City'S FY 2010-11
property tax rate.
Section 2. Severability. If any section, clause, sentence, or phrase of this ordinance is
for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, this holding
shall tiot affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance.
Section 3. Ordinances in Conflict. All ordinances or parts of ordinances and all section
and parts of sections of ordinances in direct conflict herewith are hereby repealed. However, it is
not the intent of this section to repeal entire ordinances, or parta of ordinances, that give the
appearance of being in conflict when the two ordinances can be harmonized or when only a
portion of the ordinance in conflict needs to be repealed to harmonize the ordinances. If the
ordinance in conflict can be harmonized by amending its terms, it is hereby amended to
harmonize the two ordinances. Therefore, only that portion that needs to be repealed to
harmonize the two ordinances shall be repealed.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall become effective upon enactment.
