Any given day, a large volume of visitors walk through our city buildings, be it Background: internal or external customers, residents and or staff. It is imperative that we are prepared and ready to act in case a medical emergency arises, minutes count and a life may be saved if we are ready to act. Accepting this generous donation from South Miami Hospital will place an AED Defibrillator on site at all of our buildings. As part of their donation, South Miami Hospital is willing to have in- service training on how to use this life saving device for staff. As part of their donation, SM Hospital is willing to have in- service 15 demonstrations on how to use this life saving device; and 16 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY 17 COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA THAT; 18 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept a donation of six (6) AED 19 Defibrillators from South Miami Hospital which have a value of $14,568.00. 20 Section 2.
