What needs do we strive to address? Desire of residents for lower taxes while maintaining services. Cost of housing in South Miami must be varied and stable to maintain resident diversity. Food: we need a reliable supermarket within walking distance of city center. Local schools have some problems. Few walking corridors with sufficient tree cover to make walking pleasant. Bikeways & protected bike parking. Protect of single - family residential areas while building tax base and sustainability through higher density in transit and urban districts. Unemployment and underemployment. 3. What are we doing (or need to do) to support our values and address our needs? a. Sense of community Create Farmer's Market (still getting established). We could make better use of newsletters, social media, TV, etc. We could strive to work together better, to encourage trust in leadership.
