A Resolution of the Mayor and City Commission of the City of South
Miami, Florida, authorizing the City Manager to accept a donation of
Subject: $500 from the Community Redevelopment Agency, increasing the
expenditure line item for Cheerleading, account 001 - 2000 -572 -5631, by
$200 and Football, account 001- 2000 -572 -5630 by $300, through
Revenue Account 001 - 0000 - 366 -9100; providing an effective date.
The Community Redevelopment Agency gave the City of South Miami Grey
Ghosts football and cheerleading teams a check in the amount of $500 disbursing
the amount of $200 into cheerleading and $300 into football line items.
The City of South Miami Grey Ghosts football and cheerleading teams for a long
time represented the City of South Miami through competitions. The cheerleading
team excelled by attaining first, second, and third positions through the local
Background: Extreme Youth competition. The Grey Ghost 145lbs football team won the
regional Extreme Youth competition and the State Orange Bowl competition. The
dedication of the coaches, volunteers, and the children, through the many years,
remained consistent with their efforts.
Authorizing the City Manager to accept this donation of $500 for cheerleading and
football teams will increase the approved 2010/2011 budget from $8,259 to $8,459
for cheerleading and from $16,078 to $16,378 for football. This donation will
assist with this excellent sports program in the continuation of its growth and
success.

A Resolution of the Mayor and City Commission of the City of South Miami, Florida,
authorizing the City Manager to accept a donation of $500 from the Community
Redevelopment Agency, increasing the expenditure line item for Cheerleading, account
001- 2000 -572 -5631, by $200 and Football, account 001- 2000 -572 -5630 by $300, through
Revenue Account 001- 0000 - 366 -9100; providing an effective date.
WHEREAS, it is requested that the budget for Cheerleading be increased by $200 through
revenue account no. 001- 0000 - 366 -9100 through a donation given by the CRA; and,
WHEREAS, it is requested that the budget for Football be increased by $300 through
revenue account no. 001 - 0000 - 366 -9100; and
WHEREAS, the increase of the line items expenditure will systematically bring up the
approved 2010/2011 budget for Cheerleading to $8,459 and Football to $16,378; and,
WHEREAS, it is essential to provide sufficient funds for Cheerleading and Football to
maintain department objectives; and,
WHEREAS, this donation will benefit both sports.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Mayor and City Commission authorize the City Manager to accept a
donation of $500 from the CRA adding $200 more to the expenditure line item of Cheerleading
account 001- 2000 -572 -5631; bringing the approved 2010/2011 budget to $8,459. And, to the Football
line item, providing an additional $300; increasing the approved 2010/2011 budget to $16,378.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon approval.
