RESOLUTION NO.
A Resolution of the Mayor and City Commission of the City of South
Miami, Florida, officially renaming the "All America Park at Cocoplum
Terrace" as "All America Veterans' Memorial Park "; providing an
effective date.
WHEREAS, thousands of brave men and women have given their lives in order to
protect the freedom we enjoy in our County today; and
WHEREAS, on Thursday, November 11, 2010, for the first time in its history, the
City of South Miami celebrated Veterans' Day; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission was inspired by this celebration spearheaded by a
veteran in our midst, our City Manager, Dr. Hector Mirabile; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wish to recognize all veterans, dead and alive
from all wars by renaming the "All America Park" as "All America Veterans' Memorial
Park ".
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA;
Section 1. That the City Commission wish to recognize all veterans, dead and
alive from all wars hereby rename the "All America Park" located at 6820 SW 64 Avenue to
be known hereinafter as "All America Veterans' Memorial Park ".
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this day of 2010.
