of discussing

Manager's contract.

Dr. Mirabile was allowed to answer questions and provide input to
the terms of the contract.
After approximately one hour of discussion, the COW was
closed and the Special Meeting was opened.
Mr. Goldstein at this time recommended amending the
resolution with the terms and conditions applying to the next
two weeks and to come back before the Commission at the next
regular meeting of September 21, 2010 with an Employment
Agreement between the City of South Miami and Dr. Mirabile.
Dr. Mirabile addressed the Commission concurring with Mr.
Goldstein's recommendation above.
At approximately 6:52 p.m. the Mayor adjourned the special
meeting to open back a COW to discuss the terms of employment to
be incorporated into the amended resolution.
At approximately 7:40 p.m. the special meeting reconvened
and the amended resolution below was read into the record.

A Resolution of the Mayor and City Commission of the
City of South Miami, Florida, retaining Hector
Mirabile, Ph.D. as the City's new City Manager under
terms set forth in this Resolution which terms shall
remain in effect through September 21, 2010, and
directing the Deputy City Attorney and City Manager to
return to the City Commission on September 21, 2010,
with an employment agreement for the new City Manager
for the Commission's consideration; providing an
effective date. 3/5

Moved by Commissioner Beasley, seconded by Mayor Stoddard
to approve this item.
Vice Mayor Newman clarified that the terms contained in
this resolution apply only to the next twelve days. The official
contract requires a public hearing and that will be heard at the
next regular Commission meeting of September 21, 2010.
.With no further comments, the motion to approve this item
as amended passed by a 4 -0 vote:
