Request: Approval of the Capital and Operating Budget for the fiscal year 2010/2011, as submitted by the City Manager, including the pay plan, in a total amount of $19,491,034. Independently identified as General Fund in the amount of $17,653,224, Storm Water Drain Fund in an amount of $135,902, Local Option Gas Trust Fund in an amount of $75,000, Peoples Transportation Tax Fund in an amount of $383,000, Debt Service Fund $1,145,465, Hometown Improvement Fund 25,000, State Forfeiture Fund in an amount of $16,000 and Federal Forfeiture Fund in the amount of $57,443. I ORDINANCE NO. 2 3 An Ordinance of the Mayor and City Commission of the City of South 4 Miami, Florida, adopting a Capital and Operating budget of $19,491,034 5 and Pay Plan for the Fiscal Year 2010/2011; providing for severability, 6 Ordinance in Conflict, and effective date. 7 8 WHEREAS, the City Manager has submitted a proposed budget together with a budget 9 message and supporting schedule including a pay plan; and 10 11 WHEREAS, recognizing the future liability of prior year commitments, amounts 12 encumbered during Fiscal Year 2009 -2010, but paid in Fiscal Year 2010 -2011 shall be 13 transferred in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP) and reflected 14 in the 2010 -2011 budget. 15 16 WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 200, Florida Statutes, the Mayor and City 17 Commission are required to adopt a tentative, and thereafter, a final budget for the City. 18 19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY 20 COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA THAT: 21 22 Section 1. The Budget of the Capital and Operating Budget for the fiscal year 23 2010/2011, as submitted by the City Manager, including the pay plan, in a total amount of 24 $19,491,034. If any section, clause, sentence, or phrase of this ordinance is for any 35 reason held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, the holding shall not 36 affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance. 37 38 Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this 39 ordinance are repealed. 40 41 Section 5.
