RESOLUTION NO.
A resolution of the Mayor and City Commission of the City of South
Miami, Florida, declaring the policy of the City to encourage and
promote community gardens within the City; providing an effective
date.
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission, following the recommendation of
the Green Task Force, created a Citizens Advisory Group on Community Gardens and
Farmers Market for the purpose of establishing and promoting community gardens and a
South Miami Farmers Market within the City by Resolution No. 58 -10 -13092 dated
March 16, 2010; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission wish to declare the policy of the
City of South Miami to encourage and promote community gardens, utilizing the old
inspection station, or any other surplus City property where such property is not
otherwise being used.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE
CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. The Mayor and City Commission hereby declare the policy of the
City of South Miami to encourage and promote community gardens, utilizing the old
inspection station, or any other surplus City property where such property is not
otherwise being used.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon approval.
