for services for Palmer Park Light Repairs
Reason/Need: The request addresses the need for light repairs at Palmer Park. The athletic fields
have extensive light damage. Due to the specialized work required and the height
of the 75 foot poles, professional services have been requested to provide for
public safety

RESOLUTION NO.:
A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of South Miami, Florida,
accepting and endorsing Palmer Park light repairs to provide safe usage of
the Athletic Fields; providing for an effective date.
WHEREAS, Palmer Park has severe light outages. The repair is specialized work due to
the height of the pole being at 75 feet.
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department requests to put an open Purchase Order for
$8,500 for re- lamping and repairs of Palmer Park Athletic Fields.
WHEREAS, three bids have been acquired to expedite the repairs for the public safety of
the athletic fields.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA THAT:
Section 1: the City Commission authorizes the City Manager to execute a purchase order with
Electric Masters, Inc. In an amount of $8,500 for services for Palmer Park Light Repairs.
Section 2: This resolution shall be effective immediately upon being approved.

In order to establish a base to work from, I have listed our normal per hour pricing for the trucks
that would be needed for general repairs and the most expensive material components that may
or may not be used. Not included are wire nuts, wire, and fuse holders that may or may not be
used. It is near impossible to give a price on repairing items that we have no idea what is wrong
until we research the problem. We have also included a per fixture material cost for the change
out to new Power Spot fixtures. Florida Electric Contracting Service, Inc. respectfully submits
the following prices to provide labor, materials, and equipment to repair the sport lights at The
City of South Miami parks:
1) 95' Bucket truck w /operator and electrician $174.90.per hr.
57' Bucket truck w /operator and electrician $129.80 per hr.
1000W MH ballast $134.04
1000W MH lamp $34:68
Fuses: $7.06
New GE Power Spot (integral ballast) 1000W MH 480V Fixture
that also includes lamp, reflector and glass lens: $578.00 (fixture only)
Please note, the above prices assume the existing wiring to the poles is in proper working
condition. We will connect to the existing wiring.
