Vendor was approved by Commission in the vendors over $5,000.00 list for up to $200,000 on November 3, 2010, by res. no: 193-09-13002.

Sun Recycling disposal rate per ton is $45.00 vs. County disposal rate of $59.77.
Program implemented on June 8, 2010.
As of July 21, 2010, a total of
716.23 tons of yard waste was dumped at Sun Recycling.
Cost avoidance in dumping fees to date: $10,579.00.
Sun Recycling dump site is 3.11 miles closer to the City of South Miami than
the County dump site, representing in 6.22 miles less traveled per trip.
Since implementation we have made 247 trips to Sun Recycling dump site, representing a total of 1,536.34 fewer
miles traveled.
In addition to fuel savings, we are also saving by reducing turn around time, resulting in improved production, less equipment wear and tear and lower maintenance cost.

Pump station 177 schedule
Miami-Dade County has modeled flows to determine the pressures which will be used in the design process.
Utilizing an existing design contract to prepare
the design for permitting, and then will be contracting the construction.
If everything goes smoothly, MDC sees improved capacity within 6 months and new station in 2012.
