City Commission Legislative Action Trip to Washington, D.0
BACKGROUND
As a result of the approval of the 2010 Federal Legislative Action Plan by the City Commission and the
retaining of Cardenas and Partners in Washington, D.C. to advocate the Legislative Action Plan, it is
now time to meet with various elected and administrative officials in Washington, D.C.
The purpose of the trip would be to meet with members of Congress to discuss the proposed items in the
Legislative Action Plan and to meet with representatives of the Federal Agencies involved with concerns
of the City.
These Federal Agencies may include, but are not limited to:
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission
The Department of Transportation
The Department of Energy
The Department of Agriculture
The National League of Cities
The tentative dates for the trip are as follows:
The morning of Wednesday, May 5, 2010 through the afternoon of Friday, May 7, 2010.
This item has been placed on the City Commission agenda for direction as to the dates, which members
of the Commission will attend and to determine if any additional meetings are desired by the City
Commission.
