RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA, RELATING TO CITY
COMMISSION MEETINGS; RETROACTIVELY RESCHEDULING THE
CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF TUESDAY, JANUARY 5, 2010 TO
THURSDAY, JANUARY 14, 2010; ALSO RESCHEDULING THE CITY
COMMISSION MEETING OF TUESDAY, JANUARY 19, 2010 TO
TUESDAY, JANUARY 26,2010; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 2 -2.1 of the City of South Miami Code of Ordinances provides that
the City Commission shall hold regular meetings at 7:30 p.m., on the first and third Tuesdays of
each month except for June and July; and
WHEREAS, Section 2 -2.1 of the City of South Miami Code of Ordinances also provides
that regular meetings may be otherwise postponed, cancelled or reset only by Resolution adopted
by a majority of the entire membership of the City Commission; and
WHEREAS, due to the New Year Holiday, and in order to allow to return from their
respective vacation those members of the City Commission or staff who may be out of town for
the holidays, the Mayor and City Commission desire to retroactively reschedule its regular
meeting of Tuesday, January 5, 2010 to Thursday, January 14, 2010; and, also to reschedule the
meeting of Tuesday, January 19, 2010 to Tuesday, January 26, 2010.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA THAT:
Section 1. The regular City Commission meeting scheduled for Tuesday, January 5,
2010 has been retroactively rescheduled to be held on Thursday, January 14, 2010.
Section 2. The regular City Commission meeting scheduled for Tuesday, January 19,
2010 has been rescheduled to be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2010.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon approval.
