Res No 104-14-14198RESOLUTION NO,104-14-14198 A Resolution authorizing the City Manager to permit Team FootWorks Educational and Fitness Corporation,a non-for-profit organization,to hold its 26th AnnualTwilight5K Walk/Run event,on Sunday,June1,2014,in South Miami's downtown area including surrounding streets,and waive the cost of the parking meters. WHEREAS,Team FootWorks Educational and Fitness Corporation,has submitted a Special Event Application;and, WHEREAS,forthe past 25years Team FootWorks has held the Twilight 5K Walk/Run intheCity of South Miami,sponsored through various local businesses;and, WHEREAS,the applicant has requested permission to hold its event on Sunday,June 1, 2014;and, WHEREAS,the applicant has obtained the necessary petition signed bythe appropriate local businesses and residents;and WHEREAS,the applicant has paid $500forthe deposit,$100 foran administrative fee, and$60forthe application fee;and, WHEREAS,on May 21,2013,through Resolution #110-13-13928,theCity Commission approved Team Footworks tohold their eventand waived the parking fee;and, WHEREAS,the applicant is seeking a waiver for parking feesas previously approved bytheCity Commission lastyearintheamount of $1,450(58metersX$25.00perday);and, WHEREAS,if theCity Commission approvesthewaiver,thenthe applicant wouldpay theCityforPolice($2,050),PublicWorks($554.48),andStreetClosure($463.75),which includes(1055linearfeetX.25=$263.75+$200.00MOT),totaling$3,068.23;and, WHEREAS,if theapprovalforthewaiverisnotgranted,thentheapplicantwillpaythe City $4,518.23.
