Q1. Does the City have any analysis of possible impediments to the
construction of affordable housing?
A: I am not aware of any analysis in the Planning Department of the
possible impediments to the construction of affordable housing. In the
past two years since I have been here, the Planning Department has not
conducted such an analysis. I suggest that the question be raised with
the CRA; they may have some information that was a part of their
original needs assessment.
Q2. A list of all requests that have been made for parking variances in
the last year and the City's decisions as to each.
A: There were no requests for parking variances submitted in the last
year other than the request made by Metro South in their revised
development agreement.
Q3. Has the City ever, in the past, delayed multifamily construction in
the middle of deciding whether or not to grant a variance to the
multifamily developer?
A: Unknown; research of the record would have to be conducted to provide
a more detailed response to this question.
