Fwd Privileged and Confidential Metro South #votes Steven Begin forwarded message: From: "Pepe, Thomas F." <TPepe@southmiamifl.gov> Date: June 13, 2013, 5:00:48 PM EDT To: "Steven J. Alexander" <SAlexander@southmiamifl.gov> Subject: Privileged and Confidential Metro South #votes Privileged and Confidential 2008 Ballot Question Question No. 1 Shall Article II, Section 6 D.1. of the City Charter, “Requirements for Adoption,” be amended to provide: Effective upon passage of this amendment, any ordinance that amends land use and development regulations in any manner to make them less restrictive shall require five affirmative votes of the City Commission? I was told that a substantial number of the voters answered this question in the affirmative. So the question is what is a development regulation. If the zoning map is a regulation, and I think that Mr. Brimo said it was, or at some point it was defined by ordinance as part of the regulations, then it would take 5 votes to change the map. Metro South applied to change the map, as I remember their request. Check with Mr. Brimo as to their request. Thank you Very truly yours, Thomas F.
