Res No 053-14-14147RESOLUTION NO. 53-14-14147 A Resolution recognizing the valuable contributions of Lorenzo Woodley to the South Miami community. WHEREAS, Lorenzo Woodley worked in collaboration with Dr. Scott on a free swimming lesson program at Ransom Everglades School for the Afterschool participants. (2014); and WHEREAS, he received a Certificate of Appreciation for participation and dedication in the Black History Parade. (2014) WHEREAS, he worked in collaboration with Josephine Anderson and the CRA Committee for the Computer Lab Grand Opening. (2013) WHEREAS, he initiated a Free Community Breakfast for special holidays (Father'S Dayl Mother's Day) at the Community Center to promote community spirits (2013) WHEREAS, he went over and beyond to get donations for Book bag giveaway and Turkey Drive Events. (2012-2014) WHEREAS, he worked in collaboration with Dr. Ana Price to honor Leroy "Spike" Gibson and David D. Bethel by putting two plaques at the entrance of Community Center. (2012) WHEREAS, he worked in collaboration with Stephen Davis (CRA) to implement the 2nd Chance Program. WHEREAS, he was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for his countless hours and total commitment to the Community. (2010) WHEREAS, he received a Certificate of Appreciation. (2008) WHEREAS, he made outstanding contributions to Parks and Recreation All American City. (2001) WHEREAS, he was recognized with Proclamation Lorenzo Woodley Day for saving a kid's life by initiating CPR. (2001) WHEREAS, he was the Employee of the Month. (4/2001) WHEREAS, he continuously supported the South Miami Grey Ghost football and cheerleading program. He was a Football Commissioner for three years. WHEREAS, he promoted and encouraged youth sports for the kids in the Community. Page 1 of 2 Res. No. 53-14-14147 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA, that Section 1. The Mayor and City Commission of the City of South Miami, Florida hereby honor Lorenzo Woodley for his valuable contributions to the community. Section 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption by vote of the City Commission. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of April, 2014.
