Res No 274-10-13308RESOLUTION NO. 274 -1 0 -1 3308 A Resolution of the Mayor and the City Commission of the City of South Miami, Florida authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement with Leadex Corporation using a FRDAP Grant (Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program), for renovations of the restrooms at Dante Fascell Park, in an amount of $21,846.50, to be charged to FRDAP account # 114 -2000- 572.63-02; providing an effective date. WHEREAS, the City has entered into an agreement with FRDAP (Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program) for Dante Fascell Park; and, WHEREAS, three (3) bids have been retained, and lowest bid is Leadex Corporation; and, WHEREAS, this work falls under the scope of services for building renovations; and, WHEREAS, these upgrades will bring Dante Fascell Park's restrooms into ADA (American with Disability Act) compliance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The Mayor and City Commission authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with Leadex Corporation utilizing a FRDAP Grant (Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program), through account # account # 114- 2000 - 572.63 -02, for renovations of the restrooms at Dante Fascell Park, in an amount of $21,846.50; with a grant balance of $50,856.00. Leadex Corporation is a general contractor that has done multiple and outstanding projects for the City of South Miami. Most importantly, this company is also familiar with parks' liability and ADA (American with Disability Act) compliance. An upgrade of the restrooms at Dante Fascell Park will improve the park. This park is used by many of our residents in many different ways such as, birthday Background: parties, events, sports and many other activities. A new concrete walkway around the restrooms will bring the park into ADA compliance. The cost for this-renovation-will remain: within ° the scope of services as established through the FRDAP grant. A total of three (3) bids were obtained and Leadex Corporation was the lowest price.
