Res No 148-13-13966!Y. & k 41 RESOLUTION NO. 148 -13 -13966 A Resolution authorizing the City Manager to pay to RB Air Conditioning Plus, Inc. $5,350 for the installation of an air conditioning unit to the Sylva Martin building to be charged to the Capital Improvement Program Fund account 301 - 1790 - 519 -6450 WHEREAS, the City's Building, Planning and Code Enforcement Departments relocated to the Sylva Martin building; and WHEREAS, due to the occupancy load and existing conditions in the building, staff encountered that the existing air conditioning was not sufficient to properly provide a comfortable temperature to accommodate a workable environment; and WHEREAS, the City solicited and received quotes from qualified contractors to provide and install, a new air conditioning unit in the Sylva Martin building. The following quotes were received RB Air Conditioning Plus, Inc $ 51350 Always Winter Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, LLC $ 71070 Omar and Son Services, Inc $ 81892 American Service AC Contractor $10,860 WHEREAS, pursuant to an evaluative process, it was determined that. RB Air Conditioning Plus, Inc submitted a proposal in the amount of $5,350 that is comprehensive and cost effective: and WHEREAS, due to the urgency to provide a comfortable working environment for the City employees as well as its patrons, RB Air Conditioning Plus, Inc provided and installed a new air conditioning unit; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission desires to authorize the City Manager to pay RB Air Conditioning Plus, Inc for the emergency air conditioning work for an amount not to exceed $5,350. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1, The City Manager is authorized to pay to RB Air Conditioning Plus, Inc an amount not to exceed $5,350 for providing and installing a new air conditioning unit in Sylva Martin building and the contract with RB Air Conditioning Plus, Inc., is hereby approved. Section 2: The expenditure shall be charged to the Capital Improvement Program Fund account number 301 - 1790 - 519 -6450 with a balance of $15,419.75. Section 3: If any section clause, sentence, or phrase of this resolution is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, the holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this resolution.
