A Resolution of the Mayor and City Commission of the City
of South Miami, Florida, relating to boards and committees;
appointing the members of the Budget and Finance Committee
for the Fiscal Year 2011 -2012; and providing an effective
date.
WHEREAS, the City of South Miami recognizes that a key function
of government is sound fiscal management and careful budget
preparation in order to be able to provide a high level of municipal
services to its residents and businesses; and
WHEREAS, the preparation of the City's budget is a highly
specialized area of endeavor requiring expertise and /or experience
which is normally limited to professionals within the financial
management, accounting, auditing and municipal management fields; and
WHEREAS, The City Commission also recognizes the lawful non-
interference provisions of the City Charter and the City Manager's
contract; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Commission recognize the important
contributions made by those who serve on the various city boards and
committees, and wish to appoint a full complement to each of the
active boards and committees; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to establish the Budget and
Finance Committee for the 2011 -2012 fiscal year budget, as established
by Section 2 -26.8 of the City's code of ordinances, and pursuant to
Article II, Section 8 of the Charter, as amended on February 9, 2010.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. The City Commission hereby appoints the following
individuals to serve on the committee:

Campaign). Coordinate restoration and maintenance programs and marketing and publicity. Successful
marketing campaign includes: "America's Castles segment, articles in Cigar Aficionado, Victorian Homes,
The Magazine Antiques and the New York Times Travel section. Build visitor numbers from 7,000 per year
to over 20,000 in one year via special events, publicity and community involvement (including board
membership on Portland's Convention and Visitors Bureau).
Bonnet House, Fort Lauderdale, FL

Responsible for the care, maintenance and exhibition of the collections of a historic house museum on a
35 -acre site located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway. Built in 1920, the home
was the winter retreat of artists Frederic and Evelyn Bartlett. Collections include historic buildings, exotic
and native flora and fauna, fine and decorative arts, archives and library. Assist in writing grant applications.
Oversee the successful completion of and hire contract employees for restoration grant. Supervise Grounds
and Maintenance crews. Develop botanical tour and volunteer training information.
