This is the time of year that is most financially difficult for us: We must shortly pay our largest expenses while the bulk of our sponsorship money has not yet come in. This festival has never paid for services in advance and has always paid its bills promptly. We would expect that our willingness to make this partial pre - payment will not establish a precedent for advance payments in the future. This will be the festival's 27th year. The Resolution details the rights and obligations of both the City and Rotary in connection with the Festival. Profits from this event go particularly to full college scholarships for local students and to international and community Rotary projects. We are aware that the City is in the process of developing the next budget, and we hope that the City not only will again provide a credit against the cost of City services, but also will consider increasing the amount to above $2,500, $6,000 having been granted in previous years..
