G ,/ SUBJECT: Landscaping Proposal Stormwat Iity ger CDBG 64 Street Plan i Attached is a detailed landscaping plan for the above referenced Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) project. This project is directed toward beautification and traffic calming along this major thoroughfare in the heart of the Community Redevelopment Agency(CRA) district. The ERPB reviewed this project in August of 1998, and approved the traffic calming and landscaping improvement plans. However, since then, the CRA has retained consultants to prepare a plan to redevelop Church Street(SW 59th Place), and it was felt that this CDBG project should be revised to compliment the proposed improvements under consideration for Church Street. This ERPB application is the result of those revisions. In brief, the plans have been revised to include two new landscaped islands along SW 64 h Street (this area was previously called-out as thermoplastic hatch only), and the landscaping species selection has been revised. These changes are sought to further distinguish the 64th Street Project in scope and aesthetics, making this intersection a grand entrance feature to the upcoming CRA's Church Street Project.
