ORDINANCE NO. 547
ORDINANCE OF CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA,
AMENDING CODE OF ORDINANCES THEREBY MAKING'
IT UNLAWFUL TO STORE BUILDING MATERIALS, r
MACHINERY, JUNK OR'DEBRIS ON PROPERTIES WITHIN
THE CITY; PROVIDING EXCEPTIONS; PROVIDING
P :NAT_.2I9S; '_'ROVICING. FOR LFFECTIVE DATE AND
SEVERABILITY.
WHEREAS,-hurricanes, tornadoes and storms constitute a
threat to the lives and property of the citizens of the City,
and
WHEREAS, such threat and danger is increased by the
accumulation of debris, building materials and junk, and
`WHEREAS, the "City Council finds that such accumulation is
a danger to the 'lives and property of the citizens of the City
as well as being contrary to the public-safety and welfare;

NOW, THEREFORE, 'BE'it ORDAINED'BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COUNCIL OF CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI,'FLORIDA-
1. The Code of Ordinances of City of South_Miaitii is here-
by'amended to include a section to be numbered Section 15 -72.
Said Section 15 -72 to read as follows:
Section''15 ='72. (a) It shall be unlawful to store
or leave any building materials, junk, dismantled
equipment or "debris within the City unless it is
in connection with'a purpose or business enterprise
lawfully situated and licensed.
(b) Violati S of this Section shall be punished
as provided in Section 1 -8 of the Code of Ordinances.
2. In the event that any 'portion of this ordinance shall
be held to be void, unconstitutional or 'of no effect by a Court
of competent jurisdict'io'n such holding shall in no wise effect
or disturb the remaining °portions of this ordinance.
3. This ordinance shall become effective ten (10) days
after the date of its enactment.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of October, A.D. 1966.
