1965-522ORDINANCE NO. 522 ORDINANCE OF CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 19 -22 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY`OF SOUTH - MIAMI, FLORIDA, THEREBY RE- ESTABLISHING AND , INCREASING THE RATES TO BE CHARGED FOR USE OF A TAXI CAE. WHEREi -S, the rates permitted to be charged for the use of taxi cabs in the various municipalities in Dade County have recently been increased with `the exception of the City of South Miami, Florida, and WHEREAS, the holders of certificates of Public Convenience and Necessity wii h`in the City have petitioned the City Council for an increase to such higher uniform rates, and WHEREAS, the City'_'Couhcil., after the hearing of interested parties, finds that the cost of operating taxi cabs has increased and that it is to the best interest of the -City to establish the same rare as that charged in-surrounding and neighboring communities; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED'HY THE,MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA: 1. That Section 19 -22 of the Code of Ordinances, City of"outh'Miami, Florida, is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 19 -22. Rates established; rate card required. The following rates shall be charged for the use of a taxicab: (a) Mileage rates: Forty cents ($0.40) for the fizst one -third mile or fraction there - of; ten cents ($0:10) for each additional r, one - quarter (h) mile or fraction thereof. (b) Waiting time: Ten cents ($0.10) for each one and one -half (1'h) minutes of waiting time or fraction thereof.
